Parque De La Exposición (Park of the Exposition) is located in the Santa Beatriz neighborhood of downtown Lima. The park was built during the government of Jose Balta right after Lima’s wall was torn down. It was released with the exposition palace (now an art museum) in 1872. During the celebration of the 100th independence (1921), the Chinese fountain was inaugurated which was a gift from the Chinese colony in Lima.
The Park of Exposition is a very popular meeting place both for friends and couples. Food stands are dotted all around the large park. This park is also home to wildlife such as peacocks. You can feed the large goldfishes in the lake small pieces of bread etc.
